About the Opportunity:
Lakeshore Talent is excited to partner with a forward-thinking organization to find a talented HR Benefits Manager. In this key role, you’ll oversee benefits administration, accommodations, and leave management, ensuring employees feel supported and valued throughout their employment journey. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by managing critical processes, from benefits enrollment to leave administration, while staying at the forefront of compliance and employee advocacy.
What You’ll Do:
Benefits Administration:
- Oversee employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance.
- Be the go-to expert for employee benefit inquiries, offering clear and timely support.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process, ensuring employees make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to resolve claims, coverage, and billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with ACA reporting and other legal requirements.
Accommodations Management:
- Manage requests for ADA accommodations, partnering with third-party vendors and supervisors.
- Facilitate the interactive process to identify reasonable accommodations while ensuring compliance.
- Maintain detailed, confidential records of accommodation requests and resolutions.
Leave Administration:
- Administer and track all leave types, including FMLA, disability, personal leave, and statutory leaves.
- Ensure seamless communication and compliance with federal, state, and organizational leave policies.
- Guide employees and supervisors through the leave process and support return-to-work transitions.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records for benefits, accommodations, and leave.
- Stay up to date on federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring compliance across all HR functions.
- Provide leadership with insightful reports on benefits utilization, leave status, and related metrics.
Employee Education and Support:
- Conduct benefits orientations for new hires, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
- Communicate updates or changes to benefits, leave policies, and accommodations.
- Act as a liaison between employees and providers to resolve benefits-related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration, leave management, or HR.
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to FMLA, ADA, and benefits.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a customer-service mindset.
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR).
- Experience in nonprofit, educational, or mission-driven organizations.
